"TheElephant" (426cubicinches)

A few months ago, I got rid of my dearly beloved Road King because I fell in love with a 426-equipped Challenger. I've since found myself acting like I am back in high school: cleaning the car religiously, then driving around slowly and taking pictures of it in scenic locales.
I also do burnouts. Huge, smokey burnouts. I have a little mount for my phone but you still need some skill to actually make a video. Apparently you don't just toss the cameras on the car and have shit magically hit youtube?
So, what do you suggest? How do I go about selecting the right equipment and making a good video? Is there software I should look into?
Help?

What kind of videos are you looking to make? Reviews, ride-alongs with commentary, ride-alongs with no commentary, etc.

I would like to find something that I can mount inside the cabin or outside. Want to try to capture some track runs, burnouts, 0-100 times, etc.
No commentary. I don't think people would want to hear me over the car, anyway.

What phone do you have? If the mount is good enough, I guess you could just use that in the cabin. You don't want to end up with a broken phone if you mount it outside.
If you have the money, the obligatory answer would be GoPro lol.
I've never made any car videos, but you maybe could try using the same setup Top Gear uses for interior camera mounting: one on the passenger side A-pillar facing you and (if you have another recording device) another mounted between the driver and passenger seat.

So if I went the GoPro route, what do I need? Where do you get mounts for this? Do I need software to edit the video that comes off the camera, or is that included? How hard are they to use?

You can buy mounts here off the GoPro site . Again, I've never made any videos and I've never used a GoPro in my life, either.
As for software, you can find the free GoPro video editing program on their site. I don't know how good/bad it is.
You should repost this later tonight; maybe other Opponauts with actual experience can help!
